The willing guide

Harry Erding 1903–1978

At the end of the 1930s Harry got a job
as an attendant at Malmö Museum.
He stayed with the museum for his whole working life.

Harry was also a dedicated member of the Swedish Red Cross. Wanting to help people in need was a natural part of his life.

Harry never hesitated to go along as a volunteer
with the White Buses in the final stage of the war.
When Malmö Museum then became a refugee centre attendant Harry became head of the entire centre.

Harry’s private photo album contains powerful images, both from the hell of the concentration camps and of wonderful encounters with the refugees at the museum.
