Cleans parasites away

The goldsinny wrasse belongs to the wrasse family. It is the smallest and most common species within this fish family in our waters. It is easily recognisable by the black spot at the base of its tail fin.

Just like many of its relatives, the goldsinny wrasse sometimes cleans other fish. This gives it a meal and the cleaned fish gets rid of its parasites.

The goldsinny wrasse lives mainly in shallow water and can often be seen near jetties, especially in the summer. Perhaps you might see it when you go swimming!
