Size: Up to 6 cm.

Lifespan: About 2 years.

Food: Small crustaceans.
Dies after spawning
It becomes sexually mature after two years. The male turns a bluish colour during the spawning season. When the female has laid her eggs the male guards them until they hatch ten days later. These gobies spawn in spring and summer. Two-spotted goby only spawn once and after their eggs has hatch the adults die.

Two spots
Can you guess why this fish is called the two-spotted goby? The males of two-spotted goby har a black spot at the base of the tail fin and a second, smaller, black spot beneath the pectoral fins. The females only have the larger spot, though. The fish likes to live in areas where the seaweed is in abundance.
Distribution in Sweden
The west coast, south coast, and Baltic Sea up to Åland.
